Shante´’s professional career has mostly been defined by her work in the not-for-profit museum / library sector. Formerly the Operations Director at the Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts (MoCADA), Shante´ has worked with various cultural producers in order to further the mission of the museum and incite social change. By implementing innovative structure, Shante’ has created many socially engaged projects utilizing the arts. She also worked for the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture as their Exhibitions Coordinator where she utilized the institutions collection and archives to help produce and design exhibitions in multiple mediums. Shante´ has traveled extensively throughout Europe, Africa and the Caribbean in order to gain a global perspective on how to create environments where art and visual culture can be utilized as a vehicle for transformation.
